About film
This piece of video-art by a contemporary artist, director Amir Yatziv is a complex exploration of the heritage from the past. 13 spots of rust were identified on the metal “Arbeit Macht Frei” sign (Yatziv enlarged those rust photographs for his exhibition). For two months of the restoration process, the sign was replaced with a specially manufactured copy. At the very same moment, the second copy was being manufactured in Israel for an Israeli museum. Two teams of metal workers had no awareness of one another. Both groups had their work filmed.
