Across the Waters is a drama telling the story of a Jewish musician and his family, who, in order to get away from the Nazi soldiers, turn for help to the Danish, who themselves are trying to escape to Switzerland.

45-year-old Danish director and screenwriter. Donato studied at Copenhagen Media School and spent the following eight years focusing on art and fashion photography. He also graduated from the National Film School of Denmark. Donato worked on music videos for Danish rapper Clemens, Moi Caprice, and The Raveonettes. His second short film Togetherness premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. His first feature film Brotherhood told a story about a gay relationship between two Neo-Nazis. The Jury of the 2009 Rome International Film Festival headed by Milos Forman gave it an award for Best Film.
