Director
Canadian director, screenwriter, and a postdoctoral fellow in the department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. Rashid creates essay films that are focused on gender representation in the existing discourses on genocide. Her doctoral work was funded by Funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Rashid's film Dishonour Defied tells about forced marriages in Pakistan. In 2015 she released her film A Woman’s Story, which tells about survival, physical and cultural succession as seen by three women, who have lived throughthree different genocides of the 20th century.
