Special prize For the Film with the Biggest Educational Potential by GPG was established and awarded at the 7th MJFF.
The Closing ceremony of the 7th Moscow Jewish Film Festival took place on October 12 at Oktyabr Cinema. The evening was marked by the presentation of the Special prize for the Film with the Biggest Educational Potential by the Genesis Philanthropy Group. The prize was established in 2021, and The Windermere Children, directed by Michael Samuels, became its first recipient. The prize was presented by Dimitry Dikman, the Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Genesis Philanthropy Group.
Natalie Shneiderman, GPG Director of Global Grantmaking:
Our foundation has been supporting the Moscow Jewish Film Festival for many years. All these years, we have seen the scale of the selected films growing. This year, the Genesis Philanthropy Group has established a special prize as part of the Educational program of the Festival. It will be awarded to the film that, in our opinion, will open up the most opportunities for discussion and interpretation — will sparkle the desire to learn more, to understand better, and to tell dozens of similar or different stories to future generations.
