The 6th Moscow Jewish Film Festival will take place from November 19 to November 29, in-person and online.

The 6th Moscow Jewish Film Festival (MJFF) will take place in Moscow from November 19 to November 29. For the first time, its screenings will take place semi-virtually, happening both off and online. The Festival will traditionally present the audience with the best contemporary films on Jewish themes. The screenings will be accompanied by educational events and Q&A sessions with filmmakers. The in-person screenings will be hosted by the Oktyabr cinema and Illuzion cinema. Online screenings will be held on the new zerem.tv platform for free. In 2020 for the first time, the Festival received support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.

Egor Odintsov, CEO of the MJFF::

To organize the Festival in such a manner was certainly a challenge for our entire team. But it was also important to recognize that we simply had no other solution at this time. I am confident that despite restrictions, the 2020 Festival Program came to be as rich as ever, and that our viewers will enjoy not only in-person screenings in theatres, but will also find pleasure in online screenings in the comfort of their own homes.

The 6th Moscow Jewish Film Festival will present its audiences with the best feature and documentary films that explore and interpret themes of gender equality for women and men; the conflict between Orthodox groups and the rapidly developing global world; themes that offer new perspectives on the course of the history of the Jewish people and its most outstanding representatives; and contemporary problems of identity and unity of the Jewish people.
