The 4th Moscow Jewish Film Festival announced its winners.

The awards and closing ceremony of the 4th Moscow Jewish Film Festival took place on May 30, at the Documentary film center. This year the Discoveries Key, the award of the Festival, was received by films in four competition categories.

«116 Cameras» by Davina Pardo became the Best Short Documentary Film, and animation movie «Vanity of Vanities» by Alexey Turkus and Alexey Shelmanov was named the Best Short Feature Film. «Into_nation of Big Odessa» directed by Alexander Brunkovsy became the Best Documentary Feature Film. The Special jury prize was awarded to «Menashe» directed by Joshua Z. Weinstein. The Best Narrative Feature Film award went to «Foxtrot» by the Israeli director Samuel Maoz. The closing ceremony of the Festival included the special screening of «The Invisibles» by Сlaus Refle, a film about Jews who remained in Berlin after 1943, when the city was declared to be «free of Jews».

The Chairman of the Public Council of the festival, the President of the FJCR, Alexander Boroda:

«Jewish cinema as a separate genre was formed not so long ago, and Jewish cinema, like all our culture, is very versatile and touches on a variety of issues, and it is very pleasant that the professional team of the festival organizing Committee should take into account the opinion of the Rabbi when evaluating films. I see that every year the program becomes more extensive, new films appear, which means that there is growing interest in Jewish cinema on the part of the international film community. I think that not only the number and variety of films on Jewish themes encourages the organizers to hold the festival again and again, but probably the success of the festival is already in some way the reason for the popularity of Jewish cinema».
