The 4th Moscow Jewish Film Festival (MJFF) announces jury members.

The 4th Moscow Jewish Film Festival will take place in Moscow from May 22 to May 30, 2018. Film screenings and special events will be hosted by Moscow leading cultural venues, including Garage Screen Summer Cinema at Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, Oktyabr cinema, Documentary film center, GUM cinema, and Zvezda cinema (Moskino cinema chain).

The jury of the 4th MJFF is made up of leading cultural figures: American film director and producer Brett Ratner, directors Vladimir Kott and Vladimir Alenikov, actor Alisa Khazanova, film critic Larisa Malyukova, producers and media managers Ilya Bachurin, Dmitriy Litvinov, Makar Kozhukhov. Producer and director Alexander Rodnyansky will be the President of the jury.

The prize of the Moscow Jewish Film Festival, the so-called Discoveries Key, will be awarded in four competition categories: Best Narrative Feature Film, Best Narrative Short Film, Best Documentary Feature Film, Best Documentary Short Film. According to tradition there is also going to be awarded the Special jury prize and the Honorary prize «For outstanding contribution to the development of Jewish films in Russia» from the Public council of the Festival.

I am very grateful to the creators of the Moscow Jewish Film Festival for inviting me to head the jury. To me it is not only a great honor, but also the opportunity to watch a program of thoughtfully selected top-quality films, which talk about the Jewish culture of the past and the present and explore the most relevant issues of today, such as xenophobia, hatred and intolerance.

The previous jury members included People’s Artist of Russia, director Alexander Mitta, Rabbi and public figure, the President of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia Alexander Boroda, directors Sergey Mokritskiy, Konstantin Famm and Alexander Kott, producers Aleksey Ageev and Ruslan Sorokin, CEO of the Documentary film center Sofia Kapkova, TV presenter, film expert & critic Ekaterina Mtsitouridze, philanthropist Yuri Kanner, дипломат Dorit Golender.
