Prize for a unique contribution to the development of Jewish cinema was awarded to R. Ibrahimbekov.

At the closing ceremony of the 10th Moscow Jewish Film Festival, a special award was presented, the Honorary Memorial Prize for a unique contribution to the development of Jewish cinema in Russia. It was posthumously awarded to the outstanding screenwriter, producer, and director Rustam Ibrahimbekov.

The award was received from the organizers by the filmmaker's daughter, Fatima Ibrahimbekova. This prize is a tribute to the pioneers who laid the foundations of Jewish cinematography in our country. As part of the festival, the iconic film «The Passport» by Georgiy Daneliya, based on Ibrahimbekov's screenplay, was screened.

Egor Odinstov:

Today, we have awarded the Honorary Memorial Prize for organizing the Jewish Film Festival in 1990 to Rustam Ibrahimbekov. The names of Ephraim Sevela and Dmitry Astrakhan were also mentioned. These individuals were pioneers in creating films on Jewish themes, which emerged during the twilight of the Soviet Union and the dawn of the young Russian state. It is an immense honor and a great responsibility to feel like the successors of the work started by these great creators. Without their contribution, we would not have been able to hold the festival for ten years now and showcase Jewish cinema in the capital.
