The documentary program for the 10th Moscow Jewish Film Festival has been announced.

Six feature-length projects have been selected for the competition documentary program of the anniversary film festival. Its participants include James L. Freedman's film «Charles Grodin: Rebel Without a Cause?» about the famous actor and judicial justice advocate; the sports biopic «Marathon Mama» by Rebecca Shore and Oren Rosenfeld about Beatie Deutsch, the Israeli marathon champion; Rosaline Horin's cultural study «Welcome to the Yiddish World» about the revival of Yiddish in contemporary cultural spaces by Jewish artists; Dani Menkin's investigation «Colliville» about the horrifying events of 2022 in a Texas town; the historical essay «Elie Wiesel: A Soul on Fire» by Oren Rudavsky about the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and one of the leading intellectuals of the 20th century; and surfer Andre Auziol's personal film diary «Going Pro».

The documentary short film competition stands out for its number of entries: fourteen works in this category will be seen by the jury and guests: the drama-narrative «Taking On» by Lauren Miller Rogen and her husband Seth Rogen about Lauren's mother's illness; the architectural film puzzle «Stained Glass from Saint-Dominique Street» by Simcha Stull; the story of internal maturation «Worthy» by Naama Noy; the biopic about the legendary artist «Leonid Shvartsman. A Tale of a Boy and an Old City» by Katerina Sharomet; the meditative journey into the depths of family memory «Country of Origin» by Elizabeth Watling; the personal testimony about the 1940 feat «A Ship to Palestine» by Elly Light; the intergenerational dialogue across time featuring the famous psychoanalyst and writer Santiago Dubkovsky «A Letter for Me» by Lara Dubkovsky; the touching story of a mother and son «Study Time» by Bracha Shaisheth; the story about a tattoo «Tattoo for Life» by Kineret Hai-Gillor; the lyrical miniature about the Ugandan Jewish community «Cave Synagogue» by Peter Dekerney; the portrait of rock star Lenny Solomon «The King of Pop» by Shmuel Elmalech; the observational work «The Last Jews of Guantanamo» by Yael Bridge; the film about one of the main Jewish sacred rituals «The Holy Society» by Benny Zelkovich; and the visual exploration of family issues «Choosing You» by Naama Olin.

Four documentary projects will be screened out of competition: the emotional portrait of a Polish town with a Jewish-Catholic history «Among Ourselves» by Yoav Potash; the film «Liliana» by Ruggero Gabbai about lifelong Italian senator Liliana Segre, a Holocaust survivor who became one of the moral authorities of modern Italy; the story of an amateur football team «Last Chance» by Roy Alon; and the intimate biographical picture «The Gravestone Hunter» by Yochai Rosenberg about photographer Meir Bulka, who restores names to Jewish graves.
