The 9th Moscow Jewish Film Festival will be held in Moscow from November 24th to December 1st, 2024.
The audience will be able to attend about 50 movies from 11 different countries, including premieres of feature films and documentaries from Russia, India, Serbia, and Argentina. These films represent real stories from diaspora communities on every continent, as well as the author's exploration of past, present, and future events, and experiments of young filmmakers.
Egor Odintsov, CEO of Moscow Jewish Film Festival:
Every year we say that it is very important for us to emphasize the professionalism of our festival. Yes, we are a Jewish film festival, but we are a film festival — the program should include high-quality films that will be appreciated by the jury members of no less high quality. 90% of the entire festival program consists of Russian premieres. As for the competition programs, traditionally these are films that will be shown for the first time. I want to believe that the audience will remember the exclusivity of our competitive screenings.
Over the nine years of its existence, the festival has transformed from a local screening of Jewish cinema into a major cultural urban event and gathered a total of more than 40 thousand spectators at its venues. Over 300 of the best movies of recent years have been shown and more than 150 educational events have been organized, including workshops, Q&As, and discussions.
