Dates for the 9th MJFF announced

The 9th Moscow Jewish Film Festival will be held in Moscow from September 1 to 8, 2024.

The festival will present to the audience more than 40 films, including European and Russian premieres of feature films and documentaries. In addition to screenings, educational events and Q&A sessions with the filmmakers will be organized.

Sergei Sdobnov, creative producer of the IFF, became the program director of the festival in 2024. Andrei Tarkovsky «Mirror», curator, writer. Sergey will formulate feature film programs and will also be responsible for conceptualizing the rest of the festival’s programs.

The documentary film program is formed by Egor Sennikov — curator, film critic and journalist.

This year, retrospective films on Jewish themes will also return to the festival program, for which Andrei Apostolov, editor-in-chief of the Lenfilm film studio, program director of the GorkyFest and Window to Europe festivals, will be responsible.

I would like to believe that this year we will be able to put together a program no less international than in the past. During the year, several very significant films of our theme were released at once, I hope we will be able to organize their Russian premieres.

Over the eight years of its existence, the festival has evolved from a local Jewish film festival into a major cultural urban event, attracting more than 40,000 people to its venues. Over 300 of the best films of recent years were shown and more than 150 educational events were organized, including master classes, discussions and debates.
