The Jury of the 8th MJFF announced
The Jury of the 8th MJFF includes the leading members of the film industry.
Leonid Yarmolnik, theater and film actor, producer, TV and radio host, became the chairman of the jury of the 8th Moscow Jewish Film Festival. Together with him the leading professionals of the film industry — directors, producers, actors, film critics and others — will evaluate the participants of the film festival.
Thus, the Jury of the Main Competition included:
- Victoria Isakova, theater and film actress, producer. Honored Artist of Russia, winner of the Government of the Russian Federation Award, as well as such awards as «Seagull», «Triumph» and «Golden Eagle».
- Zara Abdullaeva, film critic, art critic, editor of the Art of Cinema magazine. Author of works on the history and theory of cinema, theater, and literature, including books on directors Roman Balayan, Ulrich Seidl, and Kira Muratova.
- Pablo Rojas Castillo (Guatemala), documentary film director. Graduated from VGIK (non-fiction film workshop of B. Y. Karadjev, E. I. Reznikov) and the School of Documentary Film and Theater of Marina Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov.
The Jury members of the Short Feature Film Competition were:
- Nadezhda Rekhter-Gareva, Russian producer. Heads the international direction of Star Media Studio. Among her works are the adaptation of the Israeli format «Your Honor» (the series was released on more.tv, Channel One, REN TV), black comedy «Aurora» (More.tv) and others.
- Anton Bilzho, screenwriter, director, writer. He has made ten short films and five feature films, including «The Tale of Eugenia and Me», «Dream Fish», «Ambivalence», «Swan Lake».
- Timur Aliev, editor of Kinopoisk, film critic, psychologist. Graduate of the Film and Television School «Industria» (course «Practical Analysis of Cinema"). He has written for the magazines Art of Cinema and Sessions, Afisha Daily, Kinotv, RBC Life and Forbes.
The Jury of the Documentary Film Competition included:
- David Shneiderov, Soviet and Russian film director, TV and radio host, teacher, and film journalist. He is a member of the Board of the Guild of Historians of Cinema and Film Critics of Russia and a member of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio.
- Andrey Apostolov, film historian, editor-in-chief of Lenfilm studio, program director of the Gorkyfest and Window to Europe film festivals.
- Anton Zhelnov, journalist and TV presenter. Winner of the TEFI award in the category «Best Documentary Project» for the movie «Brodsky is not a poet».
At the end of the festival the jury will determine the winners of prizes — statuettes «Key to Discoveries». It symbolizes the position of Jewish culture, standing at the crossroads of interaction of the most different countries and nationalities. The winners will be announced in the following categories: «Best Film», «Best Documentary», «Best Short Film», «Best Documentary Short», «Jury Prize».
