About film
The film is inspired by the true story of the bravery of director Barney Scholes» grandparents, Louis and Rachel ("Ray") Scholes. Liverpool, 1947. In Mandatory Palestine, Zionist paramilitary groups were fighting to establish an independent Jewish state. Among the most radical factions was the Irgun. When British authorities sentenced three Irgun members to death, the Irgun retaliated by abducting two British sergeants – and later executed them. The incident became known as the «Sergeants Affair.« In the wake, a wave of antisemitic riots swept across the United Kingdom. Louis Scholnick (Eddie Toll), a British Jew and a World War II veteran, must defend his family's shop from an enraged mob — at any cost.
