About film
A musical film inspired by the true story of the screenwriter and composer Seth Bisen-Hersh’s grandmother. The family gathers for a seder – the traditional and most significant ceremonial meal marking the beginning of Passover. Presiding over the table is Malka (Tova Feldshuh), a Holocaust survivor. When her great-granddaughter begins to complain about the food, Malka is transported back in memory, where she sees her younger self (Annabelle Wachtel) and her sister Ruchel (Lauren Elise Buckley) starving in Auschwitz, refusing to eat the local rations. Through a series of vivid flashbacks, the film traces Malka’s story and the hardships she endured during the Holocaust.

Stacy Maltin is an American actress, producer, and director. She is the founder of the production company Besties Make Movies, as well as WIWU Productions, which focuses on commercial filmmaking. A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in journalism, Maltin made her feature directorial debut with Triple Threat (2023). The film premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival and tells the story of three best friends on the brink of their Broadway debut, whose friendship is tested as they chase success.
