About film
A tragicomedy series that immerses viewers in the world of a family-run gourmet empire, with all its highs and lows. At the center of the story is the Zweifler family. The patriarch, Simcha, a Jewish Holocaust survivor, is preparing to sell his delicatessen. Across six episodes, we come to know every member of this three-generation family: who is keeping secrets from the past, which of the grandchildren is expecting a child, and who will ultimately invest in the family’s sausage business. This contemporary Jewish family saga, set in Frankfurt and Berlin, explores issues of identity, memory, and generational continuity with the right mix of reverence and humor, brought to life by a remarkable cast.
