About film
The story of Gunther Demnig's «Stolperstein» project, which started as an effort to commemorate the memory of the Gypsies, Jews, and disabled people who became victims of Nazism in Germany. These «Stolperstein», or «stumbling blocks», are small concrete slabs topped with brass plates bearing the names and fate of the victims, located near the last homes where they lived - all across Europe. The documentary follows the development of this project into the world's largest, decentralized memorial honoring more than 100,000 lives in over 30 countries.
