About film
Historian Heather Dune Mcadam has turned her book «999: Outstanding Young Women From the First Official Transport to Auschwitz» into a powerful documentary titled «999: The Forgotten Girls». The film chronicles the heartbreaking story of nearly a thousand Slovak Jewish women who were deceived by the government during World War II. They were promised jobs, but instead were deported to Auschwitz in March 1942. Despite the harsh conditions, these women showed remarkable resilience and defied the odds in their effort to survive.
