About film
A young man named Aumari, a refugee from Eritrea, lives in Israel and makes a living by washing dishes. One day, he was detained by the immigration police to be deported from the country. He manages to escape already at the airport, where the fans and owners of the Maccabi football club mistake him for the new Nigerian striker, whom they were supposed to meet that day from the plane. At one point, Aumari becomes a celebrity, but the trouble is that he can't play football — he can only run. Will a refugee be able to deceive the migration service and stop running away from problems?

Adar Shafran is the chairman of the Israeli Producers Association and a musician who got into the film industry through his passion for music. In his youth, he started shooting music videos for his band. Later, a director invited him to become a producer. He founded Film Productions together with Roni Abramowski and produced many commercials, music videos, and films, including “2 Nights” in 2009. After that, he focused more on feature films and founded Firma Films company. Firma produces films, short films, and TV series, including “Maktub” in 2017. «Sand Runner» is his first feature film.
