About film
The documentary The Last Goodbye is in the best tradition of Jewish education and preservation of Jewish history. This is one big memoir of 83-year-old Pinchas Gutter, a Holocaust survivor at the time of the movie's release, which was worked on by specialists from the UN, the Shoah Foundation and OTOY, a company that creates holographic images. With the help of all this, they literally made him a virtual witness to Nazi crimes - Gutter became one of the pioneers of Dimensions in Testimony, an educational program that specializes in using modern video technology to make special projections in the form of Pinchas himself, who will not only talk about what he remembers, but also answer questions from the audience of schools and other educational institutions. Gutter, a man of a remarkable and bitter fate, moved with his mother from his native Lodz to Warsaw, where he was reunited with his father, but already in the ghetto. After the 1943 uprising, he was sent to the Polish death camp Majdanek, where his parents and sister died, but he miraculously survived a terrible beating by a Nazi officer, after which he went to a nearby labor camp, then to Buchenwald and Theresienstadt. Liberated by the Red Army in 1945, sent to the UK, in 1952 he volunteered for the Israeli army, lived in Brazil, South Africa, stopped in Canada - and now his priceless memories will also become immortal.
The festival will show a version of the movie in an interactive format.
