About film
The infertile ultra-Orthodox couple, Naftali and Fegi, live with Naftali's parents and have been trying to conceive a child for four years. When Naftali goes to a holy place to pray for the health of their future child, a rabbi moves into their parents' house, promising to heal Fegi. After a traumatic treatment by the rabbi, who deceitfully exploits the girl's faith, the couple enters a crisis. They view the tragedy differently, and their marriage is in jeopardy.
Most of the attention on the screen is drawn to Mili Eshet, who played the wife. She masterfully conveys all the emotional experiences of a woman left alone in a difficult situation. Religion also plays an important role, subtly threading through the entire film without disrupting its tone. Lighting, music, and cinematography all skillfully convey the nuances of the film and the complex relationships between the characters.
