About film
Ethel, who lives in a Hasidic community in Paris, went through puberty early: she had her first period at the age of 9. The family doctor insists on hormonal treatment, although the girl is clinically healthy, and then Ethel learns that in Judaism menstruating women are considered unclean and have no right to touch men. Unable to cope with the overflow of new information, Ethel blames herself for everything. A poignant drama about growing up and the first experience of realizing own sexuality.
