If It Ain't Broke (2021)

Alena visits her long-time friend Hagar in Haifa, where the two spend a day together, chatting about their personal lives, drinking, and dancing. Here they are running down the street in a race, and now they are sitting at the bar of a small bar gifted to Hagar by her admirer. Today, they can afford to leave behind the social roles assigned to them as women and mothers: for these few hours, friendship takes center stage. The film had its international premiere in the Critics» Week section at the 74th Cannes Film Festival (2021).
