About film
Zakura is a poignant documentary film that tells the story of a young Bedouin girl named Zakura. At the age of seven, Zakura is a joyful and open-minded child with a simple dream — to have a lamb. However, her dreams clash with the traditions of her Bedouin family. Zakura's father Arafat is torn between upholding the customs of the community and finding a better future for his beloved daughter. The director closely observes the lives of Zakura and Arafat, seeking to capture the heartfelt emotions, love, fear and the gravity of the choices they face.
