Avi Mograbi

Avi Mograbi is an Israeli documentary filmmaker born in 1956. He has worked on various projects as a director, screenwriter, editor, producer, assistant director, cinematographer, sound specialist, and has even appeared on-screen as himself. Avi’s grandfather founded one of the most popular movie theatres in Tel Aviv. Avi conscientiously objected to serving in the Israel Defence Forces and was jailed. He founded an Israeli non-governmental organisation Breaking the Silence, which collects the testimony of those who served in the Occupied Territories. Mograbi’s films were screened in Cannes and Venice.
