About film
After four years of battling cancer, 60-year-old Bambi Fass gives up. She is a born fighter and an optimist, but when her cancer develops metastases, she foregoes the repeated radiotherapy, and instead spends her last weeks at home, surrounded by her Jewish community in Auckland. Her husband Rick supports Bambi’s decision, even though he is reluctant to let go of his beloved, whom he had met only three years before. Their emotional journey begins with friends and family gatherings full of songs, but then Rick is left with Bambi one on one, and has to support the home hospice, take care of his two children, and deal with the pressures of the destructive reality.
