His filmography only counts three titles, and each of them touches the subject of the Nazi ideology and explores the times of the Third Reich and their consequences. Holland’s films are based on historical chronicles and rare footage. The director passed away in 2020 but had time to complete his posthumously released film Final Account, which premiered Out of Competition at the Venice International Film Festival. After the film received high praise from both the critics and the audiences, Focus Features acquired its distribution rights.
