About film
Director Judith Helfand spent about seven months taking care of her terminally ill mother. After she passed away, Judith herself decided to become a mother at 50. A part of her own mother's belongings got left in Judith’s apartment. The director goes through those things remembering her life and gets her house ready for the baby. Love and Stuff explores the theme of attachment to people and possessions — and by doing it, its creator shows what the real values are — at least for herself.
