Aleks Galper is a Russian-American social worker and poet preparing to celebrate his 50th birthday. He finds out that his ex-fiancee ran away from Russia and made it into criminal news after marrying a Scandinavian psychopathic killer. Aleks reminisces about his lost love. The news frustrates him, and he begins to reflect on his life and lost opportunities — although is it something really worth worrying about?

Ilya Popenko is a Russian-American director, photographer, illustrator, and musician. Born in Moscow, Popenko graduated from the Pratt Institute in New York and spent his life in-between two rival countries — and reflected this in his work. He has had solo exhibitions both in Russia and the United States, and his photo series ‘Vlad and John’ won First Prize at the PDN Magazine competition. Girl with Flair is his first work as a filmmaker — before, Ilya was honing his skills creating educational and music videos.
