About film
This is one of the major documentaries released in the Russian language in 2021. A young director meets Raya, the 94-year-old veteran of the Great Patriotic War who fought in the Siege of Leningrad. Raya is the Head of the World War II Veterans Club in her city of Holon. For the camera, she introduces the life of the vanishing Israeli generation. Her fighting spirit and willpower are still strong. As Raya one by one loses her last comrades, and her health deteriorates, she and the director suddenly reach a mutual understanding. Their unexpected closeness transforms the film about war and losses into a mystical story of love and friendship.
