About film
A youth theatre company from Berlin stages an opera dedicated to the Holocaust. To learn about the history of the piece they travel to Terezín, to the former concentration camp Theresienstadt. The group is accompanied by Greta Klingsberg, a charismatic old lady from Israel and one of the few survivors of the original cast of Brundibár.

was born in 1957, German director, screenwriter, and producer. He filmed his first work while still at school – a 60-minute-long film A Meeting of Saint Mary and John Travolta and its Consequences. In 1985 he made his first feature Lebe Kreuz und die Que, then created many TV documentaries about ordinary people - janitors and lavatory cashiers. His film Riders of the Sacred Blood premiered at the Locarno Festival in 2004. In 2014, he released his film Brundibar Revisited about a German theatre company that stages an opera about the Holocaust. He is a member of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin.
