About film
Dibbuk is the Jewish version of Ghostbusters. A pious mysterious man who lives in Paris alone (played by the film’s director Dayan D. Oualid) is hired by Sarah to examine her husband Eli, who is acting funny. In order to exorcise a dybbuk – a malicious possessing spirit from the Ashkenasi Jewish folklore – out of Eli, the exorcist brings together an entire team – ‘Minyan’ – a group of ten Jewish individuals. Instead of electric traps and Slimer, the team only has their decisiveness and prayers. This is a great example of an enticing genre film on a religious theme. The film premiered at one of the major global short film festivals in Clermont-Ferrand.
