Every year thousands of Hasidim from more than 70 countries make a journey to the gravesite of Rebbe Nachmann in Uman. They make an enormous contribution to the economics of the city, but not everyone is happy: Ukrainian far-right groups campaign against the foreigners and accuse local authorities of corruption. This is a film about a religious and national conflict, which has started a long time ago and still exists today.

was born in 1959, producer, director, and screenwriter. He is a Doctor of Humanities, a lecturer at the University of Warsaw, and an expert at the Polish Film Institute. Kopczynski authored many books and articles about the 19th century, as well as contemporary Polish culture and media. He is a member of the European Film Academy, International Documentary Association, and Polish Film-makers Association. In 2015 he released his film The Dybbuk. A Tale of Wandering Souls about a conflict between Orthodox Jews and Ukrainians.
