About film
This is a candid and emotional project of Russian-Israeli writer and screenwriter Dina Rubina. Together with director and her close friend Stanislav Mitin she goes back to her childhood and youth spent in Tashkent, contemplates her creative early days in Moscow, and shares how she feels about immigration to Jerusalem. The film is full of excerpts from the writer’s famous works, episodes from films based on her writing, and sketches from her current life. It is dedicated to the anniversary of Dina Rubina - one of the most widely read contemporary authors and recipient of many international awards, whose books are translated into 38 languages.
Director
Stanislav Mitin was born on August 5, 1950, in Tashkent. In 1980 he graduated the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinema as a Drama director (tutor: professor Zinovy Korogodsky, People's Artist of Russia). He then worked as a director in Leningrad Young People's Theatre, Lenkom Theatre under the artistic direction of Mark Zakharov, and Moscow New Opera Theatre. He staged more than thirty plays and musicals in Russia and abroad. Mitin was the director of the Opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. As a television director, he created children’s show «Chunga-changa» together with the acclaimed poet Yuri Entin. Mitin worked as a director for the REN TV channel launch. He co-authored more than a dozen documentaries together with Ella Mitina.
