About film
Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas is an offbeat and bold musical documentary that tells the story of a group of Jewish authors, including Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, Jay Livingston, Ray Evans, Gloria Shayne Baker, and Johnny Marks, who were writing Christmas music. It’s a story about immigrant outsiders, a generation of songwriters who independently, yet together, decided that Christmas was the perfect holiday to give people gifts of hope for the future, even for one day a year.
