Roger Deutsch (The Boy on the Train) recreates a chronicle of his own family from 1787 up to this day and tries to find answers about destinies of his several relatives. This is a poetic travelogue-esque documentary that takes the viewer on a journey with the director from Hungary to America and back through time and space.

He debuted as producer and screenwriter working on Ulli Lommel's iconic Blank Generation with Andy Warhol. Deutsch produces several low-budget horror films, and in 1983 he directed his first film Dead People. From 1993 to 2002, he taught screenwriting in Rome, where he filmed his debut feature film Sister Smile. Deutsch incorporates autobiographical materials, literary fiction, and archival images into his work. He is currently based in Budapest.
