Concert. Svetlana Samarina and Django Friends band

On September 9  at 22-00 , after the screening of the film «Live at Mister Kelly's» in the lobby of the Illusion there will be a concert of Django Friends band. 

Mister Kelly's is a legendary Chicago nightclub that launched the careers of many famous musicians. It was most often used as a jazz venue. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughn and many other musicians who became classics in later years performed there. In America's heyday years, jazz was more than just music. For many, it became a way to express themselves and marked the arrival of a new time, a time of freedom. 

European direction of jazz - gypsy jazz, jazz manouche - also gave the world many famous musicians. One of the founders of this direction is Django Reinhardt, a French jazz guitarist born in a family of nomadic gypsies. He miraculously survived World War II, and his music in Europe was called the music of resistance. So, after the show Django Friends band and vocalist Svetlana Samarina will play a concert in the best traditions of Django Reinhardt's music.
