About event
The victims of the Palmniken tragedy were inmates of the Stutkoff concentration camp. It was established in 1939 in Nazi-occupied Poland near the village of Stutthoff (now Stutowo), east of Danzig (now Gdansk). During the war years about 110 thousand prisoners were sent to this camp, 65 thousand of them died. About 3 thousand of them were shot in Palmniken in the winter of 1945.
Today there is a memorial complex and a museum on the site of the concentration camp in Gdansk.
