About event
In 2019-2021, the world's largest film festivals and awards have repeatedly praised VR projects created on Jewish themes or by Israeli directors. Venice, Cannes, Tribeca, Raindance, SXSW and many other festivals not only selected such projects for their programs but also recognised them with awards. Multiple educational programs and laboratories for creating spherical films took place in Israel, and their results were presented at the Haifa International Film Festival.
As part of the 7th Moscow Jewish Film Festival, we are going to present the VR Cinema section in promo format in partnership with the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center. We are going to showcase two unique interactive projects, which demonstrate a completely new outlook on traditional Jewish themes: the memory of the Holocaust and the Holy City of Jerusalem.
Georgy Molodtsov, VR Cinema Section curator, will talk about the trends of VR films at film festivals and the existing VR formats, and will present two unique works that will be shown on October 10, from 12 pm to 10 pm, in the Mezzanine of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
The event and VR screenings are free. Registration and following anti-Covid regulations are required.
