Tom Shoval and Narrative Film Program Curator Egor Belikov will talk about friendship and collaboration with Alejandro González Iñárritu, Jewish themes in Shoval’s film, and whether this story could have happened anywhere else. They will discuss the representation of Russian repatriates in Israel and the director’s attitude to them, as well as whether it’s possible to build a utopian society like the one portrayed in the film.
