Elena Makarova (Israel) is a writer, historian, art therapist, documentary filmmaker, and exhibition curator. She has authored more than 40 books which were translated into 11 languages.
About event
“The Guide to the Lost” is the documentary novel by Elena Makarova which was released by the New literary review in March. The book is based on conversations with former prisoners of ghettos and death camps. For more than thirty years, Elena has been restoring - bit by bit - the destinies of various people, many of whom died during the Holocaust – writers, painters, teachers, artists, poets, scientists, and simply people.
Elena Makarova and Mikhail Libkin will have an online conversation about such people as part of the Educational program of the 6th Moscow Jewish Film Festival.
