Andrey Plakhov is a Russian film critic and historian of cinema, columnist for Kommersant newspaper. He is an active presence on international film festival scene, Honoured Worker of the Arts Industry of the Russian Federation, Honored Culture Worker of Tula Oblast, UN Goodwill Ambassador in Morocco. From 2005 to 2010 was the President of the FIPRESCI.
About event
“Foxtrot” has raised much commotion at various film festivals. The film is indeed a daring and humorous narration about death. That kind of risk is not for every director. What is the secret of Samuel Maoz’s success? How did he manage to combine stories about fall from grace and redemption, forgiveness and mercilessness, love and indifference into one tragicomedy?
