About event
“Keep the change” by Rachel Israel is a film about ordinary human warmth among far from ordinary people. The story unfolds in a social support group for adults with developmental disorders. They are not merely a director’s concept, but real actors with such disorders.
“My experience of working with people who have Down syndrome has revealed to me their extraordinary potential and natural talent for performance. It can create unique theatre experience that is unlike anything else and influences the viewer deeper and stronger compared to one we are accustomed to. Emotional uplift that the viewers receive during our performances will make them want to come back and tell their friends about us too. And by expanding our audience we will have an opportunity to create a sustainable financial model,” says theatre director Margarita Rebetskaya. The viewers of the film will be able to talk to Margarita Rebetskaya and Julia Saponova about things that are special to her work and about the creative journey.
