Drums - Sergey Bolotin, Sax - Anton Ponomarev, Bass - Hassan Mustafin. “Speedball trio” is a band that is not even a year old, but one that is performing and touring very actively. Every member of the band has already made his name on the Russian improvisation music scene, playing experimental and avant-garde jazz. Each is participating in several projects and groups at once. The young men are brought together by their love for powerful uncompromising sound and for experimenting with forms of building compositions at the border of punk music, jazz and prog-metal.
About event
The band is preparing a special program for voicing “Nathan the Wise”, wich will be different from their usual performances. For example, the bass player will switch to the bass viol. It will be for the most part an improvisation, but with a vision of structure and form underneath. They are also planning to use lots of electronics in order to create a denser musical palette.
