The animated film "The Rabbi's Cat" will be in the program of the festival
The first animated film participant of the 1st Moscow Jewish Film Festival
"The Rabbi's Cat" of Antoine Delevo and Joan Sfar have been awarded the Sezar in 2011. The film was never showed before in Russia. A funny touching story of a cat that wanted to convert to Judaism for the sake of his passionate love to the Rabbi's daughter. The style reminds "Trio from Belville" by its lightness and wisdom of storytelling. It will be shown in the non-competitive part of the Festival.
The committee is extremely grateful to the Embassy of France in Moscow and personally to Simeon Mirzoanz, the attaché of film and media. The Consulate was kind enough to support the 1st Moscow Jewish Film Festival which led to having "The Rabbi's Cat" in the program.
