Launch of VR-cinema program
16.09.2023

The 8th MJFF opened a section of the program of Jewish-themed films in VR-format.

On September 10, the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center opened the VR-cinema program section of the Moscow Jewish Film Festival. From 12:00 to 22:00 in the space above the 4D-cinema, the VR-section will work, consisting of seven VR-stations: three stations for showing interactive works and four stations for showing 360 films.

Thereafter, the VR cinema program will run at the Jewish Museum every Sunday from October 15 through November 12, as follows: Oct. 15, Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, and Nov. 12.

The 360 films are shot on a real video camera with a 360-degree view, which allows the viewer to look around at what is happening while remaining inside the actual videotaped documentary narrative.

Interactive movies most often resemble a computer game, but built around a story narrative that the project is about. And interactive movies allow the audience to find themselves inside the events and make a decision within the story the project is telling.

All films of the VR-film section of the 8th MJFF will be available to the audience free of charge.
